Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C(fan)/350°F/Gas 4.
From 2 pack Ready rolled puff pastry, cut out two Christmas tree shapes.
Spread 180 g Nutella over one tree, all the way to the edges. Lay the second tree on top, to cover the Nutella.
Create a star for the top (optional) and brush the whole tree with 1 Egg.
Bake for 15-18 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Dust with Icing sugar (optional).
Notes
Make sure to take the puff pastry out of the fridge 15 minutes before you use it, as it will crack when rolled out if it is too cold. But don't leave it out of the fridge for too long before using it, as it will be too soft.
Store bought puff pastry comes in a block or sheets. Make things easier for yourself by using ready rolled sheets.
We used 350g of pastry total. This was cut from two 375g sheets with the remainder left over for another recipe.
You will need to warm the Nutella up for 10-20 seconds in the microwave to make it more spreadable.
The thicker you cut your branches, the easier they will be to twist.
Add Smarties or M&Ms after it has cooled to look baubles.
Why not add a pot of melted Nutella on the side, so everyone can dip the tree branches in to it. Too much Nutella? Nah! No such thing!
