Add a touch of indulgence to your meals with this creamed cabbage side dish. Made with a lighter swap, it's the perfect accompaniment to holiday feasts.
Over a low heat, melt 2 tbsp of Butter and add 1.2 kg of Savoy cabbage.
Stir well and cook on low for 10 minutes.
Add 300 ml of Reduced fat crème fraîche, 1 tbsp of Mustard, 2 pinch of Sea salt and 2 pinch of Ground black pepper. Mix well to coat all of the cabbage.
Notes
This is best eaten hot, as it isn't like a coleslaw creamy cabbage.
Make this even faster by using a food processor for fast chopping/shredding.
Add a little lemon zest before serving to lighten it up.
A sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese on top is really good too.
You could also add some shredded brussels sprouts to this to mix it up a bit.
For some festive flavor, add a sprinkling of nutmeg on top before serving.
