You can cook French toast sticks in the air fryer in minutes, with no need to fry in oil or butter. Air Fryer French Toast is a quick and easy breakfast.
In a mixing bowl add the butter, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, egg, and cinnamon.
Mix well to combine everything.
Slice the bread into sticks and soak them in the mixture.
Put the soaked bread into your air fryer, leaving room between the pieces. You may have to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook on the Air Fry setting at 180°C/350℉ for 9 minutes, turning halfway through.
Notes
Don't over-soak the bread sticks, as they will fall apart if they are too soggy. If you do soak it too much, then you can line your air fryer basket with parchment paper first. Never put parchment paper in the air fryer without the food on top of it, as if it flies around it can catch fire.
Make sure the French toast sticks are not touching in the air fryer.
You can put a layer of baking paper (parchment paper) that is suitable for the air fryer or an air fryer silicone mat in your air fryer if your basket is not non stick. Don't do this whilst your air fryer is pre-heating (if required).
Don't over soak the bread, as it will start to fall apart otherwise.
Make a chocolate version by stirring some cocoa powder into the milk mixture before soaking the bread.
