Why You Will Love It
- Snickers yogurt is a quick and easy dessert to prepare with no baking required and easy to make ahead and keep in the fridge.
- Naturally high in protein (no protein powder needed) when made with thick Greek yogurt.
- Easy to adapt with different yogurt, chocolate and nut butter. They feel like a proper dessert while still being filling and satisfying.
Ingredients and Substitutions

A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Greek yogurt - Thick Greek yogurt creates the creamiest base and provides plenty of protein. Full-fat Greek yogurt gives the richest flavour and texture, but 0% or reduced-fat yogurt also works well and makes it lighter. Avoid using a very thin natural yogurt, as the mixture may become runny and will not contrast as nicely with the firm chocolate topping.
- Peanut butter - Smooth peanut butter blends easily into the yogurt and gives the pots a creamy texture. Crunchy peanut butter can be used for even more texture. Almond butter, cashew butter or sunflower seed butter can be used instead. They will change the flavour, but the basic method remains the same.
- Peanuts - Chopped roasted peanuts add the crunch associated with a Snickers bar. For a nut-free version, leave out the peanuts and use toasted sunflower seeds or crispy puffed rice instead. Make sure the peanut butter is also replaced with a nut-free alternative.
- Chocolate - Dark chocolate creates a rich shell that balances the creamy yogurt. Chocolate containing around 60-70% cocoa works well without becoming overly bitter.
Snickers Yogurt Pot Variations
Lower calories - Although this isn't low calories, it it nutritious. So, you can't compare the calories in this, to say, the calories in a brownie. However, if you want to lower the calories then you can use peanut butter powder and leave out the chopped peanuts.
Yogurt - Mix a little cocoa powder into the yogurt and peanut butter. You may need to add some extra sweetener, as cocoa powder can make the mixture taste more bitter.
A thick dairy-free Greek-style yogurt can also be used. Coconut yogurt works particularly well with the chocolate and peanut flavours, although the finished pots may contain less protein.
Chocolate - Milk chocolate can be used for a sweeter, more traditional chocolate-bar flavour. White chocolate also works, although the finished dessert will be much sweeter.
Sweeter - For a sweeter dessert, stir in a little maple syrup, honey or another liquid sweetener. Do not add too much, as this can make the yogurt mixture thinner.
Higher Protein - Use a thick, high-protein Greek yogurt and add a small amount of vanilla or chocolate protein powder. Add the powder gradually, as too much can make the yogurt dry or chalky. A splash of milk can be stirred in when needed.
How To Make Snickers Yogurt Pots

- Step 1: Melt the chocolate, either gently in a pan on the hob (stove top), or in short bursts in the microwave. Allow to cool.
💡 If melting in the microwave, use a low heat and melt in bursts of 15 to 30-second intervals.

- Step 2: Put the yogurt, peanut butter and around ¾ of the peanuts into a mixing bowl.

- Step 3: Mix everything together until well combined.

- Step 4: Divide the peanut/yogurt mixture between glass ramekins.

- Step 5: Carefully spoon the cooled chocolate over the yogurt. Sprinkle with the remaining peanuts.
- Step 6: Refrigerate until the chocolate has set, around 10-15 minutes.
Storage and Meal Prep
Keep the Snickers Greek Yogurt Pots covered in the fridge and eat them within three days.
Small containers with lids are ideal because they protect the yogurt from absorbing other flavours from the fridge. When using glasses or ramekins, cover them tightly with reusable covers or food wrap.
The chocolate may develop a little condensation after being chilled, especially when the pots are moved between warm and cold temperatures. This does not affect the taste.

Dannii's Top Tips
- Stir the peanut butter well before measuring, particularly when using natural peanut butter that separates in the jar.
- Use small individual containers to make snickers yogurt rather than one large dish. This makes the chocolate shell easier to crack and keeps the portions convenient.
- Melt the chocolate slowly to prevent it from overheating or becoming grainy.
- Make sure the pots are sitting level in the fridge so the chocolate sets in an even layer.
- Add the chopped peanuts while the chocolate is still wet so they stick properly.
- For a softer topping, mix a small spoonful of coconut oil into the melted chocolate.
- Remove the pots from the fridge for five minutes before serving when the chocolate shell is particularly firm.
- Do not make the chocolate layer too thick, as it can be difficult to break and may push the yogurt out of the pot.
