Juicy chicken breasts marinated in a blend of lemon, oil, garlic and Greek herbs and cooked in the air fryer until crispy on the outside and succulent in the middle. Air Fryer Greek Chicken is our go-to chicken recipe at the moment, as there are so many different ways to use it and the light and fresh flavours are so simple, but SO good.
You just can't beat an air fryer for cooking chicken. Whilst we have lots of Air Fryer Chicken recipes, this might be one of our favourites. Those Greek flavours take us back to island hopping round Greece and the incredible food that was simple, never overly complicated, but the taste was just unbelievable!
We have taken chicken breasts and marinated them in a simple mixture of oil, lemon, garlic, salt, pepper, herbs, and vinegar for the perfect blend of Greek flavours.
Greek chicken in the air fryer takes less than 20 minutes to cook (extra marinating time recommended) and the ways to serve it are almost endless. It's also great for weekly meal prep.

Ingredients and Substitutions
A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Chicken - We used boneless and skinless chicken breasts to keep this air fryer Greek chicken recipe nice and lean. However, you could use chicken thighs which would be juicier. Just be aware that it would change the cooking time.
- Oil - Use a good quality olive oil.
- Garlic - Make sure the garlic is finely crushed, almost into a paste, to ensure even distribution in the marinade. You could use ready crushed garlic from a jar if you prefer.
- Salt and Pepper - Generously season.
- Lemon - For extra zesty flavour, use the juice and zest of a lemon.
- Dill - We would have used dried dill for ease, but we had run out. We had some liquid dill (which we LOVE), so we used that. Either will work though.
- Oregano - Dried oregano adds so much of that lovey Greek flavour.
- Red Wine Vinegar - This helps to add some acidity.
More ingredient substitutions and variations can be found in the recipe card.

If you just want to dip this chicken into something, then it has to be our Whipped Feta. Make extra, as you will want to dip everything into it.

Not a fan of potatoes? Go with some rice and make our Greek Rice to keep with the Greek vibes.
You could also slice up the air fryer Greek chicken and stuff it into a Homemade Flatbread with some salad, Hummus and Tzatziki.

Extra Tips
- Make sure to keep an eye on the chicken in your air fryer, as they all cook at different rates and you don't want to overcook it and have dry chicken.
- Don't leave the chicken breast to rest in the air fryer after the cooking time has finished, otherwise they will continue cooking.
- Chicken breast sizes can vary greatly, so cooking times will vary too. Try to use chicken breasts that are the same size so they cook at the same rate.
- If you want this to cook a bit quicker, then instead of cooking whole chicken breasts, you can dice them up and mix them with the marinade and then cook them. This will take about 12-14 minutes to cook.
