Ingredients and Substitutions
A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Greek yogurt - This is the main ingredient, so choose the best quality you can as you will be able to tell the difference. Real Greek yogurt is really thick, which will give you the best consistency for the dip. We used 0% fat, but you can use any plain yogurt.
- Ranch seasoning - Trader Joe's ranch seasoning has so many uses, but this is our favourite. You can make your own homemade ranch seasoning if you prefer. You could also just add in some ranch dressing or even some onion powder and garlic powder with some dried dill if that's all you have.
- Cheese - We added some cheddar, as it thickens it out and gives it an extra rich flavour. You could leave it out if you wanted a lighter option.
- Onions - Adds lots of crunch and flavour. You could add diced shallots if you prefer.
Variations
Herbs - If you want to add an extra kick of flavour, then add some fresh herbs like dill or chives.
Spices - A little smoked paprika or red chilli flakes add a nice flavour to this Greek yogurt ranch dip.
Cheese - We used some sharp mature cheddar to thicken this ranch dip. But you could swap it for Parmesan or crumbled feta instead.
Avocado - Blend in half a ripe avocado for a smooth, creamy texture and extra nutrients as it's a great source of good fats.

Serving Suggestions
This Greek yogurt ranch dip recipe is so versatile, and we always have a batch in the fridge because it just goes on everything. Here are some of our favourite things to serve it on.
Veggie Platter: Serve this healthy veggie dip with a colourful array of fresh vegetables like carrots, celery, bell pepper slices, cucumber rounds, and cherry tomatoes.
Chips and Crackers: Pair the Greek yogurt dip with your favourite potato chips, pita bread, Bagel Crisps, or whole-grain crackers for a satisfying crunch. We like sweet chilli crackers too.
Salad Dressing: Thin the dip with a bit of milk or buttermilk to make a delicious, creamy salad dressing. You could use an apple cider vinegar to add a nice tang to the dip.
Sandwich Spread: Use it as a spread for sandwiches or wraps for an extra layer of flavour. It goes well with our Smoked Salmon Bagel or Low Carb Lettuce Wrap.
Meats: Serve as a sauce alongside grilled chicken, beef, or fish. It is a great dip for our Baked BBQ Chicken Wings.

Frequently Asked Questions
This dip will keep well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days when stored in an airtight container.
Yes, you can, but the dip will be thinner. If using regular yogurt, consider straining it through a cheesecloth to remove some of the excess liquid for a thicker consistency.
