Ingredients and Substitutions

A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Yogurt - Greek yogurt is the main ingredient in this cookies and cream Ninja Creami. We used fat free to make it lighter, but you can use a higher fat percentage which will make it creamier.
- Maple syrup - This is what adds the sweetness, but it can be swapped for honey or agave.
- Vanilla - Use vanilla extract, not essence, to make the vanilla Creami base.
- Oreos - This is where the cookie and cream flavor comes from. Use different flavor Oreo cookies to mix it up.
Variations
Cookies - We have used Oreos to make this an Oreo Creami recipe, but any kind of cookie would work. Chocolate chip cookies are our favourite swap. You can use different types of Oreo too - the brownie ones are really good.
Protein - You could make this even higher in protein by adding some protein powder. Vanilla or chocolate would work.
Peanut Butter - A swirl of peanut butter mixed in is really good!
Mix-ins - Other mix-ins that work well are chocolate chips and nuts like walnuts or pecans.
How To Make Ninja Creami Cookies and Cream - Step by Step

- Step 1: Put the yogurt, maple syrup and vanilla into the Ninja Creami pint container.

- Step 2: Mix well to combine everything.

- Step 3: Put the lid onto the pint container and freeze for 24 hours.

- Step 4: Remove the lid and put the frozen pint tub into the outer bowl and put on the outer bowl lid. Put into the Ninja Creami machine and set to the frozen Yogurt setting and spin. After the first spin it may result in a crumbly consistency.

Serving Suggestions
There are so many options when it comes to toppings here. Think about when you go into an ice cream shop, and all the different toppings that you can choose from - they can all go on this too.
We kept it simple with just some extra crushed Oreos. But, why not try our Homemade Chocolate Sauce or chocolate chips too? You could also make some of our Homemade Healthy Nutella and drizzle that over it to make it extra chocolatey. Some of our low sugar granola on top adds a nice crunch too.
Our kids love adding sprinkles onto it and marshmallows too. Whilst we have just scooped this into a bowl, you can put it in a waffle cone to make it feel more like a treat.

Dannii's Top Tips
- This makes quite a small batch. You could wanted to make it go further, then you could add some milk to it.
- When putting the ingredients into the pint container, don't exceed the max fill line.
- Oreo thins give a better cookie and cream filling to biscuit ratio so we find that they are the best to crumble into this.
- This is quite a soft ice cream if you are eating it straight after adding the mix-ins. If you want it more scoopable, then you can put it back in the freezer for a bit before serving.
- To make this more budget friendly, supermarket own brand cookies and cream taste just as good in this.
- We added really fine crumbled Oreos, but you could quarter each one so they are chunkier when mixed in.
- If you wanted to make this a little extra creamy, without using full fat yogurt, then just add a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream (double cream) to the mixture.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ice cream will harden again when it goes into the freezer, so we would recommend keeping it in the Ninja container, so it can be re-spun again when you are ready to eat the leftovers. You can also just leave the pint out of the freezer for 10 minutes until it softens and then scoop it.
When making a healthy ice cream with just fat free yogurt rather than cream, sometimes you have to re-spin it more times. If after all the re-spins it's still crumbly, then add a tablespoon of milk and re-spin again and it should be a creamy texture.
