Whilst cheese and crackers is a classic snack choice, homemade lunchables can be SO much more exciting than that. The options are almost endless, and we are sharing our favorite ones, along with some easy swaps.
So easy to adapt and you never have to have the same one twice - make your inner child happy by adding these to your meal plan.
We have high protein adult lunchables, healthy lunchables and some a little more indulgent, as well as some kid friendly ones. You want to get a good balance between flavor, texture and also nutrition and then use the best containers to make sure everything stays fresh.
Adult lunchables are SO good for weekly meal prep. I make about 4-6 on a Sunday and they will do my husband and I for the next 2-3 days so we have snacks to fuel us through out work day. So easy to just grab and eat at our desk.

Lunchable Ideas
When it comes to making these lunchables for adults, the general rule is to add a protein, a carb and then some kind of fruit and/or veggies. I try to make them as colorful as possible and also make sure there is a mixture of texture. Here are 8 of our favorites.
1. Cheese and Chorizo
Chorizo is not an every day food for us, but it has such a delicious smoky flavor, that it pairs perfectly with the cheddar cheese and salty mini crackers. Add some cucumber and tomatoes in there too to lighten it up.

2. Mozzarella and Prosciutto
Prosciutto is a much better option than most hams, because the ingredient list is literally just pork and salt. No scary additives. Pair that with some creamy mozzarella balls in pesto and some crunchy breadsticks. Then, why not add dessert right there into the box? Chocolate almonds are the perfect choice.

3. Beef and Tzatziki
A great way to use up leftover slices of roast beef. Some cucumber slices and pepper slices too, and then some Homemade Cottage Cheese Tzatziki to dip it all in.

4. Chips and Salsa
A classic snack combination. Take some salty potato chips (crisps) and dip them in some Homemade Restaurant Style Salsa. Then add some carrots for extra crunch and raspberries for sweetness.

5. Tomato and Mozzarella
Such a delicious summer combination and makes the most of ripe summer tomatoes. Add some seeded crackers for a fiber boost and some baba ganoush to dip them in. Some grapes for dessert.

6. Pretzels and Cream Cheese
Pretty much always my go-to combo for a snack. So easy, has protein, fiber and crunch. Add some Homemade Everything Bagel Seasoning on the cream cheese for extra flavor.

7. Protein Packed Roast Turkey
Slices of deli roast turkey is a great way to up your protein intake. Add some wafer crackers and then a flavor packed dip like spicy roasted red pepper dip so it isn't too bland. Then some juicy orange segments too.

8. Cottage Cheese and Brie
Cottage cheese is always a good option for something high in protein. Then add some slices of brie and crunchy rosemary crackers and you have yourself a winning snack. Add some refreshing watermelon chunks and chocolate topped mini rice cakes.

Dannii's Top Tips
- Depending on what ingredients you use, these will last about 3-4 days in airtight containers in the fridge. Things like watermelon will go mushy quicker and crackers might start to go soft. So something to think about when deciding which one to grab out of the fridge.
- You could make a breakfast lunchable (breakfastable?)by having Greek yogurt and nut butter, with some bananas and berries and then some Low Sugar Granola.
- The recipe card below and the nutritional information is for just one of the boxes (#1 Cheese and Chorizo) as an example. The others will vary.
Adult Lunchable Containers
I love these 4 Compartment Containers, because they keep everything separate and make sure that all the different parts stay fresh and nothing gets soggy. I also find that they are the perfect size for an adult snack or light lunch.
If you don't have a container with separate compartments, then you can always put things like crackers, pretzels or apples in a separate bag or container within a larger container.
