This is one of those meals that ticks every box. It's high in protein, full of fibre, and loaded with fresh vegetables. It's also ideal for meal prep - everything can be made ahead and assembled when you need it.

Ingredients and Substitutions

A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Chicken - We used diced chicken breast, but you could use boneless skinless chicken thighs which would be juicier.
- Sweet potatoes - These could be swapped for white potatoes if you prefer. or try a Brown Rice and Quinoa blend.
- Oil - A good quality olive oil.
- Hot honey - Hot honey is simply honey infused with chilli. You can buy it ready-made or make your own by gently heating honey with chilli flakes.
- Paprika and garlic powder - This adds extra flavour to the chicken.
- Lime - Adds freshness.
- Salad items - Homemade pickled red onions, sweetcorn, tomatoes, avocado, pickled jalapeños, carrot, cucumber and rocket lettuce (arugula).
- Cheese - Feta makes everything better. Why not try cooked halloumi for a twist?
Hot Honey Chicken Bowls Variations
Lower-carb version - Swap the sweet potatoes for cauliflower florets or serve everything over extra greens.
Mild - If you prefer a milder flavour, use regular honey instead of hot honey and skip the jalapeños.
Vegetarian option - Replace the chicken with crispy tofu, halloumi or roasted chickpeas and still coat them in hot honey. You could also use our Marinated Butter Bean recipe.
Extra veg - To add some extra veggies, try adding our Air Fryer Roasted Vegetables.
You can also turn this into wraps using soft tortillas or homemade flatbreads - perfect for lunchboxes or quick dinners.

Meal Prep and Storage
It's no secret that meal prep makes our lives so much easier, especially when the kids are on school holidays. We spend so much time making sure they are fed that we forget to feed ourselves! So, these chicken meal prep recipes are perfect for that.
Meal Prep: You can cook the chicken and sweet potatoes in advance and keep them in separate airtight containers to add to meals as and when needed and they will keep for 3-4 days. I also make a big batch of our homemade pickled red onions are they go well on so many different meals.
Storage: If you want to make the hot honey chicken bowls up fully to put in the fridge so they are ready to grab and go, they will keep in airtight containers for up to 3 days. Add the avocado just before serving though. I wouldn't recommend freezing these.

Dannii's Top Tips
- Pat the chicken dry first, as it will make it easier to coat.
- Cut the chicken into even-sized pieces so it cooks evenly and stays juicy. Use a meat thermometer to check the chicken has a minimum internal temperature of 74°C/165°F.
- Don't overcrowd the pan/air fryer - cook in batches if needed to get that lovely crispy edges on the sweet potato and chicken.
- If you are unsure of spice levels, add a little to the chicken and cook it and then you can always add some more when serving the hot honey chicken bowls.
- If you want to finish it off with a sauce, then try our Healthy Ranch Dressing. We like an extra drizzle of hot honey when serving too.

Myself and my family really enjoyed this. I tweaked the recipe a little for our own personal tastes but the chicken was lovely and so were the little potatoes. I then served it with chopped salad including grated carrot, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and sweetcorn, plus the rocket and feta.
