This Easy Mango Frozen Yogurt is a healthy dessert you can make in minutes when you want something cold, creamy and refreshing, with minimal effort. Mango frozen yogurt has a soft serve style texture when eaten straight away, with the natural sweetness of mango and the creaminess of yogurt. It is lighter than ice cream, much quicker than making frozen yogurt from scratch and perfect for hot days, after-school snacks or a simple healthier frozen dessert.
Because the mango is already frozen, there is no need to churn it, freeze it for hours or use any special equipment. Just blend everything together until thick and creamy, spoon it into bowls and eat it immediately.
It is also easy to adapt depending on what you have in your kitchen. You can make it sweeter, thicker, higher in protein, dairy-free or turn it into smoothie bowls, popsicles or frozen yogurt bites.

Ingredients and Substitutions

A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Frozen mango - Frozen mango is the main ingredient and it is what gives this recipe its thick, frozen texture. Using frozen mango means you can eat it straight away, rather than needing to freeze the mixture after blending. Mango chunks work best, and you want them fully frozen for the creamiest texture. You can freeze your own fresh mango if needed.
- Yogurt - Full-fat Greek yogurt will give you the richest texture, while 0% or low-fat Greek yogurt will keep it lighter and higher in protein. You can also use natural yogurt, although the finished texture will be a little softer and less creamy.
- Maple syrup - The amount you need will depend on how sweet your mango is and how sharp your yogurt tastes. You can leave it out if your mango is very ripe and naturally sweet, or swap it for honey, agave syrup or a little powdered sweetener.
Variations
Tropical Twist - Add a splash of coconut milk or use coconut yogurt. You can also add lime juice for a sharper, fresher flavour, or a little vanilla extract to make it taste more like mango ice cream.
High protein - Use thick Greek yogurt or skyr. If you usually add protein powder to desserts, a small amount of vanilla protein powder can be blended in, but you may need a splash of milk to help it blend smoothly.
Multi fruit - Swap some of the mango for frozen pineapple, peaches, raspberries or strawberries. Mango and pineapple gives it a bright tropical flavour, while mango and raspberry adds a sweet-tart contrast.
How To Make Mango Frozen Yogurt

Step 1
Put the mango, yogurt and maple syrup into a food processor.

Step 2
Process it all together until smooth and creamy.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this mango frozen yogurt on its own for a simple refreshing dessert, or add toppings to make it feel more special - great for a summer dinner party or date night. Fresh mango, berries, sliced banana, granola, chopped nuts, coconut flakes or a drizzle of melted dark chocolate all work well.
It also makes a lovely smoothie bowl base. Spoon it into a bowl and top with granola, chia seeds, fresh fruit and a little extra yogurt.
For a dessert-style bowl, add crushed biscuits, dark chocolate chips or a spoonful of nut butter. Peanut butter, almond butter or cashew butter all pair really well with mango and make it more filling.
You can also serve it in cones for a fun frozen treat, or layer it with granola and fruit in small glasses for a quick summer dessert.
If you want to make it for children, serve it with colorful toppings and let them build their own bowls. It is sweet, creamy and refreshing without needing lots of added sugar.

Frozen Mango Yogurt Storage Advice
This frozen mango yogurt is best eaten straight away, as that is when it has the best soft serve texture. Because it is blended from frozen fruit and yogurt, it will firm up a lot once stored in the freezer.
Leftovers - If you do have leftovers, spoon them into an freezer-safe airtight container and freeze for up to 1 month. Let it sit at room temperature for 10-20 minutes before serving, then stir well to bring back a softer texture.
Popsicles - You can also freeze the mixture in popsicle molds. This is a great option if you want a make-ahead frozen snack, as the texture works really well as a popsicle.
Yogurt bites - Another option is to freeze spoonfuls of the mixture on a lined tray to make frozen yogurt bites. Once solid, transfer them to a freezer bag or container and enjoy them straight from the freezer.
Avoid storing this in the fridge, as it will lose its frozen texture and become more like a thick smoothie or mango yogurt.
Dannii's Top Tips
- Use a food processor if your blender struggles with thick frozen mixtures. A high-powered blender works well, but a food processor often handles frozen fruit more easily.
- Let the mango soften for a few minutes before blending if the pieces are very hard. This helps everything blend more smoothly without needing to add too much liquid.
- Scrape down the sides of the blender or food processor a few times. This helps the mango blend evenly and gives you a smoother texture.
- Do not add too much liquid. A splash can help if needed, but too much will turn the mixture into a smoothie rather than thick frozen yogurt.
- Taste before serving. Frozen fruit can vary in sweetness, so you may want a little extra maple syrup, a squeeze of lime juice or a touch of vanilla depending on the flavour of your mango.
- Use thick Greek yogurt for the creamiest result. A thinner yogurt will still work, but the finished dessert will be softer and less like soft serve.
- Serve it immediately for the best texture. This is the kind of recipe that is meant to be made and eaten straight away, rather than prepared hours in advance.
