We are all for treats (and tricks) at Halloween, but it's nice to balance it out a little and make sure the kids (and adults) are getting some goodness too. We do that by making as many of our meals and snacks Halloween themed.

Ingredients and Substitutions
A full ingredients list, along with US Customary and Metric measurements, can be found in the recipe card at the end of this post.
- Oranges - You can use any type of oranges here to make an Orange Jack-O-Lantern, depending on how big you want them. Larger navel oranges are best, but you could make mini ones using mandarins or clementines. You could even use grapefruit.
- Grapes and Berries - This is what we used to fill the Jack-O-Lantern fruit cups, but there are so many options when it comes to the fillings. More on that below.
Variations
Oranges - We used naval oranges, but you could make mini jack-o-lantern oranges with satsumas or mandarins. You could use grapefruits if you want larger version.
Filling - Anything goes here! You could use a mixture of fruit like grapes, berries, chopped up orange, kiwi, mango and pineapple.
If you wanted to make them a little more of a Halloween treat, then you could mix in some chocolate chips or mini marshmallows. Or maybe add in some Halloween themed jelly sweets.
How To Make Jack-O-Lantern Orange Fruit Cups - Step by Step
- Step 1: Slice the top off the oranges in a zig zag motion and use a knife to cut round the flesh inside, to loosen it.
- Step 2: Scoop out the flesh and set aside (you can use this to go back in the orange Jack-O-Lanterns if you like).
- Step 3: Carefully, use a knife and carve your face out.
- Step 4: Fill the fruit cups with your fruit mixture.
- Step 5: Replace the top and serve.

- You could swap the oranges for grapefruit
- If you didn't want to cut the faces out of the orange, then you could just use a permanent marker to draw them on. This is a way to get kids more involved. Or, they could draw the faces they want, and then a grown-up can cut them out.

- 150 g (1 cups) Blueberries
- 150 g (1 cups) Grapes - quartered
Instructions

- Fill the fruit cups with 150 g Blueberries and 150 g Grapes.
