Serving Suggestions
Some kind of dip is a must with this Christmas vegetable platter. We went with a star shape bowl and added a white dip for it to look like a bright star. Here are some dips that will work well:
- Whipped Feta
- Blue Cheese Dip
- Sour Cream and Chive Dip
- Garlic Sauce
- Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip
- Healthy Ranch Dressing
Extra Tips
- Try to cut everything to a similar size and aim for long thinish sticks. They need to look like branches of a Christmas tree.
- Why not use slices of bell pepper to look like Christmas decorations and ornaments going diagonally across the Christmas tree vegetable tray.
- Don't want to do a Christmas tree shape? Why not shape everything into a circle and make it look like a Christmas wreath?
- You could add pretzel sticks to look like the tree trunk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Try to make this as close to serving as possible, as all the vegetables are best when fresh. However, you could make this an hour before serving (but leave the dip in the fridge). Any longer and the vegetables will start to get dry. However, you could chop the vegetables 24 hours in advance and store them in an airtight container in the fridge until you are ready to assemble the Christmas veggie tray.
Any leftovers of this Christmas veggie platter can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. We then use the leftovers for snacks with hummus or added to lunch boxes.
We used a Christmas tree shaped board to make it easier to keep to that shape. But, you could also use a circular or rectangle shaped board and just arrange everything in a triangle shape to look like a tree.
