This chocolate pudding recipe is light and fluffy, but with a really indulgent chocolatey goodness.

Ingredients and Substitutions

- Chocolate - We used a dark chocolate as it gives it a real intense flavour. You could use milk chocolate, but it wouldn't be as good. Try to use the best quality chocolate you can, as you will be able to taste the difference.
- Creme fraiche and Greek yogurt - This is what makes the dessert so creamy. You could use just yogurt, but creme fraiche is a bit creamier.
- Maple syrup - This is what gives it some extra sweetness. You could swap it for honey, but we love the flavour of maple syrup.
- Mint extract - This gives a really intense mint flavour.
- Mint leaves - We like to add some fresh mint on top for serving, but that is optional.

Step by Step Instructions
One: Add some boiling water to a saucepan and then put a glass bowl in the pan, making sure the bottom doesn't touch the water. Break the chocolate into the bowl and gently simmer, stirring the chocolate constantly.
Two: Remove the chocolate bowl from the heat an add the creme fraiche, yogurt, maple syrup and mint extract.
Three: Gently mix together.
Four: Serve into glasses and top with dark chocolate chunks and chopped mint.
Chocolate Pudding or Chocolate Dessert?
Pudding is a bit of a strange word, as it means something different all over the world. In the UK a pudding is anything sweet that you would eat after your meal. But, in the US, it describes a certain type of textured dessert.
This does have a creamy mousse like texture, but we didn't call it a mousse as there is no egg in it and it doesn't quite have the airy bubbles that mousse does. Try our Easy Chocolate Mouse for that.
But it is so smooth and rich and the ultimate date night dessert, so we went with pudding.

Mint Chocolate Dessert
Ingredients
- 100 g (3.5 oz) of Chocolate - dark
- 100 g (0.5 cups) of 0% Crème fraîche
- 250 g (1 cups) of 0% Fat Free Greek yogurt
- 4 tablespoon of Maple syrup
- 2 teaspoon of Mint Extract
- Fresh mint and chocolate shavings - for serving; optional
Instructions
- Add some boiling water to a saucepan and then put a glass bowl on the pan, making sure that the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the water. Break 100 g of Chocolate into the bowl and gently heat the pan, stirring the chocolate constantly until melted.
- Add 100 g of 0% Crème fraîche to the melted chocolate and stir.
- Stir the chocolate mixture into 250 g of 0% Fat Free Greek yogurt in a separate bowl and add 2 tsp of Mint Extract and 4 tbsp of Maple syrupix well.
- Divide between 4 glasses top with Fresh mint and chocolate shavings.
